Logging Waste

Waste tracking helps restaurants identify inventory loss and uncover opportunities to improve profitability.

Recording Waste

Navigate to the Waste Tracking section and create a new waste entry. For each entry, record:

  • Inventory item
  • Type (Waste or Damaged)
  • Quantity
  • Reason for waste

Examples include:

  • Spoilage
  • Overproduction
  • Employee meal
  • Damaged product
  • Incorrect order
  • Other operational losses

Why Track Waste?

Tracking waste provides visibility into where inventory is being lost and helps managers make informed decisions to reduce unnecessary costs. Consistent waste tracking leads to greater accountability and improved operational efficiency.

Purchase Orders & Shipments

Shipistry helps restaurants maintain visibility into purchasing activity and incoming inventory.

Creating a Purchase Order

Create a purchase order by selecting your supplier and adding the inventory items being ordered. Purchase orders help create a clear record of what has been requested from suppliers.

Tracking Shipments

As shipments are received, update the shipment status within Shipistry. Tracking shipments helps operators understand what inventory is on the way and what inventory has already arrived.

Benefits

  • Improved purchasing visibility
  • Better inventory planning
  • Reduced stockout risk
  • Centralized supply tracking
  • Greater manager accountability

By combining purchase orders and shipment tracking, restaurants can make more informed supply decisions and stay ahead of inventory challenges.
